Just holding it in your hands, feeling the worn-down edges from Sunday afternoon coffee on the porch with your dad. The platter that held hundreds of after school snacks you've prepared for your kids over the years, now is holding you and all of the held back tears and every bit of nostalgia as they move out on their own.
